Prof. Dr. Lukas Capek
Department of the Technologies and Structures, Technical University Liberec, Czech Republic

Dr. Capek is a researcher at the Department of Technologies and Structures, Technical University Liberec, Czech Republic. Dr. Capek is also the vice president of the Czech Society of Biomechanics. His research focuses on clinical biomechanics and applications of textile engineering in medicine. His research group has developed a diagnostic tool for the detection of primary stability of total hip replacements. He is the author of more than 40 publications relating to biomechanics. Dr. Capek also took part in two research fellowships: 2010 – Université de Franche-Comté (Besancon, France) and 2017 – Waikato University of Technology (Hamilton, New Zealand).

Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Yordan Kyosev
Chair of Assembly Technology for Textile Products, ITM, TU Dresden, Germany

Prof. Kyosev has been Head of the Chair of Assembly Technology for Textile Products since 08/2019. He is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Engineered Fibers and Fabrics, published by SAGE (IF 0.814) and a main developer of the TexMind software for textile engineering development and simulation. He was a fellow at CDG e.V. (2000) and DAAD (2004); moreover, he obtained an Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship (2005/2006). He is the author of 4 monographies, numerous book chapters as well as journal and conference papers.

The Doctoral School aims at providing fundamental knowledge to PhD students in the area of clothing technology.

  • Phenomenological models in structural mechanics (Introduction: what is the model, linear versus non-linear, compressibility)
  • Identification of material parameters based on experimental data (based on measured data – monofilament or planar sample, identification in software Hyperfit)
  • Verification of material parameters by a finite element model (importing material parameters into MSC.MARC and verification by a uniaxial test) – The MSC.MARC is free for students use.
  • Home work with practical testing
